Showdown

Well, it seems that all the lobbying Netanyahu and others did will come to naught.  The UN Human Rights Council endorsed the Goldstone report to punish Israel for defending itself.  Only 6 countries, it seems, have enough common sense to know that endorsing this will hamper the efforts of Western nations to defend themselves against terrorists who fight asymmetrically.  Some on the council went so far as to say Israel intentionally set out to kill civilians.  I guess this is the kind of mojo you have with an instant majority on most or all UN councils.

The sad part is, this is more of the same old same old.  Let’s hope the US vetoes this unbalanced resolution in the Security Council so it settle into the garbage bin it belongs in.
