No ruling on the Goldstone report just yet
October 7th, 2009 Israel

Richard Goldstone

Something finally goes right for Israel.  Libya decided to pressure Israel by trying to get an Oct 20th date in the UNSC to hear the Goldstone report and hope the rest of the Security Council would stick it to Israel and give the Palestinians a pass.  Abbas decided to get on board to win some points at home due to the ceaseless criticism by Hamas.

At present, the UNSC has rejected hearing the case.  It’s almost a given if they can’t get it through the Security Council (the US prefers it to be handled by the Human Right’s Council), the Arabs will bring this to a vote in the General Assembly where ,in addition to condemning only Israel, they will indict a ham sandwich, just because they can.

The Palestinians fire missiles for 8 years and we don’t hear ‘boo’ from the UN except some lame protests by Ban Ki Moon.  Israel goes in to stop the nonsense and does everything an army can possibly do to get the civilians out of the way and they have the full weight of just about every single UN Council brought to bear against them.  Just another day…..
