Raed Salah arrested and then released?

Raed Salah at the Temple Mount

Raed Salah at the Temple Mount

Salah, the head of the Islamic Movement’s Northern Branch was arrested in Wadi Joz for incitement and sedition.  This guy has 7 impending police investigations against him and the best the courts can do is send him home and tell him not to go to Jerusalem for 30 days.

Why the Israeli court system thinks this is a smart idea I’ll never know.  But, sadly, this goes along with the current ‘kid gloves’ approach the Israeli government takes with any Arab of any note who has a beef with Israel.  You can read more crap like this from Ahmed Tibi, an MK who for some reason, Israel chooses to allow to stay in the Knesset when he should be turned out of the country or at least in jail.  The sad part is, he is representing the point of view of his constituency.  He must be, as he keeps getting re-elected.  Oh well, at least we know what the people who keep putting him in office are thinking.

Now you even have Fatah members saying, “Yup, if Israel doesn’t back off, there will be a third Intifada’.  Great….the whole chorus is singing.  Why no one internationally is trying to help Israel get the Arabs to back off is beyond me, but as mentioned previously, if they want to start another Intifada, Israel should defend itself and it’s citizens accordingly with all due force.

Intifada 3?

If you’ve been watching the news the last few days, you might think you are caught in a time warp.  ‘Al-Aqsa is in danger!!”  Raed Salah, screaming at the top of his lungs for Muslims to defend Jerusalem.  You might think its 2000 again.  You’d be wrong.

Back after too long a break
October 4th, 2009 under Uncategorized. [ Comments: none ]

I don’t know where this blog went off the rails, but sometime in July of  last year the fates or other circumstances conspired in my cessation of anything useful to post.  I wish I had a better ‘excuse’ than that but as best as I can recall, I just stopped.

Needless to say, I am not looking to repeat that again with the current ‘re-launch’ of this blog/site.  ‘Re-launch’ is probably not the best word as there is no pomp and fanfare this time around.  I had been kicking around getting back to posting again around Rosh Hashana, but when I tried to get back into the site, the individual who graciously hosts Tzomet had taken this and another site he runs offline while he was upgrading his servers.  So much for busting out of the gates.

I hope to again bring you insights into what is happening in the Holyland and the Jewish world in general and as always welcome your comments, insults, or whatever else you hurl this way.

It’s good to be back!

Oh yeah, and happy Sukkot.

Gilad Shalit is alive
October 2nd, 2009 under Gilad Shalit, Hamas, Israel. [ Comments: none ]

I don’t know if this means he will be home any sooner, but at least we know he is alive, appears sane and is not incapacitated in any way

20 skanks for a video.  I guess it was worth it for proof of life.  The only question now is, how many murderers is it going to take to free him for real?  And should he ever be brought home, how will Israel change it’s policy to prevent thousands from being released for one soldier again?
